Q4 iPhone Sales Estimates Point to between 67-71 Million Units
According to InvestCorrectly, current sell-side average analyst's estimates appear to be in the 64 to 65 million range for iPhone sales in calendar Q4, AAPL's Q1. However, using the UBS Evidence Lab Phone Monitor is raising its first quarter estimate for iPhone sales to 70.9 million units.
The evidence lab uses numbers based upon search requests for the device. To have hit the estimate, Apple would have had to sell the units before Saturday December 27. That was the last day of Apple's Holiday December quarter or 1st quarter.
While the Evidence Lab is raising its estimate to 70.9 million, UBS analyst Steve Milunovich raised his estimated to 67 million. Milunovich raised his forecast by 4 million phones from 63 million. The Apple Analyst doesn't believe the company will have enough phones on hand in order to hit the higher Evidence Lab Phone Monitor number. Will Apple beat the best estimates? Only time will tell.
