Apple's iPhone 6-Plus may account for 60% of iPhone Shipments

10A News - Rumor
The top ten iPhone 6 Plus reviews that are noted in Engadget's report covers The Verge, TechRadar, TechCrunch, CNET, The New York Times and others, with all giving Apple's new phablet two thumbs up. Apparently, the iPhone 6 Plus is doing so well that it's outgunning the iPhone 6 in spite of the hoopla associated with Bendgate.

According to a new Taiwan supply chain rumor, sales of iPhone 6 Plus will be higher than expected, to account for 60% of total shipments of iPhone 6 devices, judging from recent shipments of analog ICs to the two iPhone 6 device producers, Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron Technology. Foxconn is responsible for the production of the iPhone 6 Plus, while Pegatron makes the iPhone 6, the sources revealed.

Shipments of IC parts to the two makers were almost at even initially, but Foxconn appears to have received more shipments recently, the sources indicated.

The report further states that "The higher-than-expected sales of the iPhone 6 Plus may harm the sale of Apple's iPad mini which has a display size of 7.9-inch that is close to the 5.5-inch display used by the iPhone 6 Plus." That last point, of course, is just speculation, as the iPad mini is very strong with the iBook crowd.

In the end, it's looking great for the iPhone 6-Plus which is likely to overtake the Galaxy Note 4 in sales in Q4 if the current trend prevails.

The Chinese market is apparently in love with phablets which may account for this sudden surge in IC parts that's being reported. Apple's iPhone 6 officially launches in China on October 17.
