Foxconn Striving to Hire More Workers to meet iPhone 6 Demand

10A News - Rumor
A new report out of Taiwan today states that strong demand for Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is pushing Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) to restart large-scale hiring at its plants in Shenzhen and Zhengzhou China, according to upstream supply chain sources.

To meet Apple's plans to launch its new smartphones in 115 countries and regions worldwide by the end of 2014, Foxconn has been aggressively recruiting workers to help assemble iPhone 6 devices.

Because working on assembly lines is no longer as attractive as before for workers in China, Foxconn is having issues recruiting sufficient numbers of workers. The company has been hosting hiring events recently to maintain its manpower, the sources added.

Though in the bigger picture, part of the problem that's not being noted in today's report out of Taiwan is that Foxconn has diverted some of its new workforce to manufacturing smartphones for Xiaomi and other Chinese OEMs.
