Apple Hires another High Profile Fashion World Executive
Just over a year ago Apple hired the head of the Yves Saint Laurent fashion house Paul Deneve to work on unspecified "special projects" under CEO Tim Cook. It's now being reported that Deneve had a hand in hiring Catherine Monier who was the European retail head for Yves Saint Laurent.
On Monday Apple hired former Burberry/Nike executive to head Apple's Digital Marketing and the high profile hires continue with Monier. At the moment it's unknown what role Monier is to play considering that Angela Ahrendts, former Burberry's CEO, is head of Apple's Retail Operations.
We asked this question back in April: "Could Apple be Eying Smart Clothing as the Next Big Thing?" With so many high profile hires from the fashion world and those associated with high fashion projects like former Nike's Ben Shaffer and TAG Heuer's Sales Director, Apple must have a huge project in the making that requires such depth of talent.
You can't have that many chefs in the kitchen unless it's for a big party. For now we have to be patient and ride it out until Apple is ready to reveal their grand new venture. Yet one thing is for sure, they definitely have our attention.
