Apple Files Three New Trademarks for "iBeacon" Icons in Color and Black and White

Back in November Apple filed four iBeacon trademark applications which covered future financial services, e-commerce, consumer loyalty programs and much, much more. Today, the US Patent & Trademark Office published three new Apple trademark applications covering the iBeacon icon in color and black and white. The applications were actually filed on April first but were delayed in being published to the public until today. Whether they wanted to avoid April fool's day is unknown at this time. Apple filed their icons under two International Classifications covering a wide range of applications including, advertising, business services, retail store services and a car audio apparatus which likely translates into being a part of Apple's CarPlay.

The US Patent and Trademark Office published three trademark applications from Apple today covering their new iBeacon icon. Two cover iBeacon's color icon and the third covers the icon in Black and White.

According to US Patent and Trademark Office's documentation, Apple's '890 trademark filing for iBeacon was filed under International Class 009 which specifically covers "Computers; computer peripheral devices; computer hardware; handheld digital electronic devices; digital format audio and video players; radios, radio transmitters, and receivers; car audio apparatus; audio components and accessories; network communication apparatus; electronic communication equipment and instruments; optical apparatus and instruments; telecommunications apparatus and instruments; global positioning system (GPS) devices; telephones; wireless communication devices for voice, data or image transmission; apparatus for data storage; computer software; couplers, cables, chargers, docks, docking stations, interfaces, and adapters for use with all of the aforesaid goods; computer equipment for use with all of the aforesaid goods "

 

The color trademark was also filed under trademark filing # 86238947. Apple's black and white icon was filed under application # 86239011 and listed under the very same International class 009 verbiage as noted above for their color icon.
