Apple provides us with a Walkthrough of CarPlay in a Ferrari

1. Ferrari Apple CarPlay
Yesterday we you showed you Volvo's ultra-cool CarPlay video. You could tell by that video that Volvo is passionate about integrating Apple's CarPlay into their vehicles. Late yesterday Ferrari issued a press release promoting CarPlay in two of their top models being showcased at the European car show this week. Today, Apple provides us with a walkthrough of CarPlay in a Ferrari, just in case you're holding back that purchase until CarPlay arrives.

Ferrari's press release: "The Geneva International Motor Show 2014 provides the venue for tomorrow's debut of the California T, the new Prancing Horse V8 which looks set to be the queen of the event. Flanking it on the Ferrari stand will be Maranello's revolutionary four-seater four-wheel-drive FF sporting the new Apple CarPlay system.

This means that from tomorrow, Ferrari clients will enjoy the smarter, safer and more fun way to use iPhone in the car. CarPlay provides iPhone users with an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use maps, listen to music and access messages with just a word or a touch. Users can easily control CarPlay from the car's native interface or just push-and-hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to activate Siri without distraction."

An Apple representative by the name of Emily provides us with a walkthrough of CarPlay in the new Ferrari here. While the video isn't the best quality, it may still be able to answer some of the questions that you still have about the system that Apple's CarPlay webpage didn't cover.

One of the other car companies at the European car show this week showcasing CarPlay in a number of their 2014 models is Mercedes. Unlike Volvo and Ferrari engineers who carefully built CarPlay into an integrated infotainment system in the vehicle's console, Mercedes' implementation looks more like an afterthought. I'm sure it'll be refined over time.
