Apple Expected to Ship More than 50 Million iPhones in Q4

PA - Title Bar - News
Shipments of panels used in Apple's new iPhone 5S are expected to reach between 10 and 15 million units in the third quarter and leaping to 20 million plus units in Q4. Apple's 5C display orders will reportedly surpass 30 million units in the holiday quarter.

DigiTimes is reporting today that Sharp will be the early winner with 7 million 5S displays shipping in Q3. LG Display and Japan Display are said to be the other suppliers for the 5S.

In terms of the iPhone 5C, Japan Display will land more than half of the panel orders throughout 2013, with Sharp expected to pick up more than half of the remaining portion while LG Display will be responsible for the remaining orders, the sources said.

Market observers added that panel shipments for the iPhone 5C are expected to surpass those of the iPhone 5S, showing that Apple is more optimistic about growth in the mid-range handset segment in markets such as China.

I hate how everyone was expecting the 5C to be cheap. Like heck apple never told anyone that they will be building a cheaper iphone. Personally I think that they were smart in killing the iPhone 5 and focusing on the iPhone 5c with the same components. It'll be easier on suppliers and if people want a cheap phone then I guess apple should start making the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4/4s midClass phone for the growing markets

Apple will be super aggressive in marketing the 5C over the 5S as evident by www.apple.com and 5C being the only phone you can pre-order.

5C is truly low-cost in that it costs a lot less for Apple to make than the 5S. It might have as much as twice the profit margin.

Shock us in Q4 Apple.
