Apple Resumes Business with Samsung Display

PA - Title Bar - News Shot
A new report surfacing from Korea IT News today claims that Apple has officially resumed its business ties with Samsung Display for thin LCD panels.

The report states that Apple uses thin LCD panels in their iPhone, iPad and most recent MacBook Pro series – which would indicate that the thin displays are used in Retina Display based products.

Although the report didn't provide its readers with any reasoning for Apple's shift back to Samsung Display or revelation as to what displays were being contracted, we did report back on May 17 that Apple was cutting iPad mini orders to AU Optronics as they were having significant problems ramping up to mass production levels.

Whether this is a stop-gap measure for Apple or the beginning of a new longer term relationship with Samsung Display is unknown at this time.
