A new report from DigiTimes states that AU Optronics has reportedly reached the one million mark in panel shipments for the iPad mini after months of struggling to increase yields. AU Optronics currently provides AH-VA wide-angle panels for the iPad mini while LG Display, Apple's other main panel maker for the device, provides IPS wide-angle panels. While the company worked diligently to reach its production targets throughout Q4 2012, they've now solidified higher yields to keep the iPad mini in supply for this current quarter and beyond. The company is now reportedly working on panels for the next-generation of iPad mini which should be introducing a Retina display later this year.
