Apple Files Trademarks for iPod Classic, iPod Touch, more

IPOD WORD On September 18, the US Patent & Trademark Office published four of Apple's latest trademark applications pertaining to their iPod Classic, iPod touch, iTunes and MainStage which was first posted in Hong Kong and reported by Jack Purcher yesterday. Apple's iTunes trademark application expands to now cover Telecommunication Services and Search Engines which relate and extends to Apple's iPhone as well.

Apple has filed for the 'Pod touch' trademark with the US Patent & Trademark Office under application 77277704. It's duly noted in the application that Apple claims Priority based on a Foreign Filling made on June 21, 2007 in the Netherlands under application 700284. Apple filed the trademark under International Class 009 as noted below.

 

International Class 009: Portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, audio and video files; computer software for use in organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, audio and video files on portable and handheld digital electronic devices.

Apple has filed for the 'iTunes' trademark with the US Patent & Trademark Office under application 77277633. Apple now expands their international classification that was earlier noted in their May 2006 trademark application 78874759 as being class 35. Apple now adds International Classes 038, 041 and 042 as noted in full below.

 

International Class 038:  Telecommunication access services; communication by computer; provision of telecommunications connections to computer databases and the Internet; transmission of data and of information by electronic means; broadcasting or transmission of radio and television programs; audio broadcasting of spoken word, music, concerts, and radio programs; broadcasting pre-recorded videos featuring music, television programs, motion pictures, news, sports, games, cultural events, and entertainment-related programs via computer and other communications networks; web casting services; electronic transmission of streamed and downloadable audio and video files via computer and other communications networks; electronic transmission of movies, music and video information via an internet-based database; providing on-line chat rooms, bulletin boards and community forums for the transmission of messages among computer users concerning entertainment, music, concerts, videos, motion pictures, radio, television, news, sports, games and cultural events; provision of connectivity services and access to electronic communications networks, for transmission or reception of audio, video, movies and/or multimedia content; communication services namely, matching users for the transfer of music, video and audio recordings via communication networks provision of information; delivery of messages by electronic transmission.
