A new supply chain report from China may have spilled the beans on Apple introducing a new iPad mini Air design later this year. The report also notes that a new a 12.9 inch iPad, which has been rumored since May, may actually surface in 2015.
The Chinese site UDN reports that one of the iPad mini Air features will be that it's 30% thinner than their current model. In order to achieve the slimmer design, the iPad mini Air's chassis will reportedly use nanometer processing technology. The unnamed factory manufacturing the new nanometer technology reportedly passed certification recently. In addition, the publication suggests that the iPad Mini Air will draw its processing power from the new A8 processor which is currently manufactured by TSMC.
While the report noted that a 12.9 inch iPad is still being contemplated by Apple, little to no details of value were presented.
