A new DigiTimes Research report states that there were 4.353 million consumer tablets sold in the China market during the third quarter of 2013, increasing 21.7% sequentially and 67.2% on year, according to Analysys International. Apple was the number one tablet vendor in China, as expected.
At the moment on the tablet front, Samsung is still eating Apple's dust in China.
The reverse is true in smartphones in China. According to new DigiTimes new smartphone study, Samsung was the number vendor taking 18.4% market share while Apple inched out a meager 3.5% market share for eighth spot.
Apple's stats are destined to vastly improve in Q4 with their new iPhone models currently selling well in China. Apple's iPhone sales could sky rocket later this quarter if China Mobile's new iPhone sales campaign launches on time.
