Today another Mac site made a big deal about a patent that Apple had to acquire because of a lawsuit between PhatRat and Apple back in 2006. It's not that Apple couldn't create a line of next generation sportswear down the road, because they could if the patent being hailed today was actually something that Team Apple actually filed for. But they didn't. They acquired it so that they could keep Nike + iPod alive. Plain and simple, end of story – with no "secret" anything happening at Apple. Today's Granted patent clearly shows that the inventor doesn't work at Apple. The lead inventor is Curtis Vock of PhatRat, the very inventor and company that sued Apple. But hey, if you want to believe in fairy tales, then keep believing in Apple's secret platform based on this old patent. Ha! I needed a good laugh today.
